Institution Equity Scholarships (IES) are university funded and targeted to undergraduate students who can provide proof of financial need.
SATAC processes Equity Scholarships on behalf of the University of South Australia.
Applications are currently closed. Information about 2020 scholarships will be available in December 2019.

Who can apply?
You can apply for an IES through SATAC if you:
- are an Australian citizen
- an Australian permanent resident
- hold a permanent humanitarian visa
- you have been made an offer to commence study at the University of South Australia, or
- you will be continuing a course of study at the University of South Australia that you commenced in the year prior, and
- you will be enrolling in a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP).
Full-fee paying and international students are not eligible to apply for Equity Scholarships through SATAC.
What information do I need to apply?
The type of information you will need to supply to SATAC will depend on your applicant status.
Current SATAC applicants
If you applied through SATAC for a place at the University of South Australia you will be asked for your SATAC undergraduate reference number.
Current University of South Australia students
If you are currently studying at the University of South Australia and you intend to continue your studies, you will be asked for your current student number and details of the course you are studying.
Proof of financial disadvantage
If you have a Commonwealth means-tested income support payment you will be asked for your Centrelink Customer Reference Number (CRN) or your Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) file number.
If you are not in receipt of a Commonwealth means-tested support payment you will need to supply an income statement for each person in your household for the last two financial years.
If you wish to be considered for a rural/regional ranking you will need to supply your permanent residence postcode and indicate that you moved for study by providing the names and postcodes of the schools attended for the last two years of your secondary schooling.
