If you are thinking about sitting the STAT for entry to an undergraduate course or a TAFE SA higher education course, the information on this page will help you get started.

Prospective students who do not have the necessary qualifications, or whose qualifications are not competitive enough, may consider sitting the STAT to gain entry to their chosen course. If you are eligible and competitive enough to apply with another qualification you do not need to sit the STAT. If you are unsure whether to sit the STAT contact SATAC for advice before you book a test sitting.

If you have a question about sitting the STAT see our STAT FAQs page for answers to our most frequently asked questions.

Eligibility to use STAT in South Australia and the Northern Territory

Results from STAT Multiple Choice can be used to compete for entry to most undergraduate courses offered through SATAC in South Australia and Northern Territory. Before you book a STAT sitting check first if:

  • the course you are interested in considers STAT results, and
  • whether you are eligible to use a STAT result to compete for entry to the course

There are rules regarding using a STAT result for entry to undergraduate courses. Check the selection rules for undergraduate admission pathways to learn more.

Results from the STAT can also be used to meet the course admission requirements for entry to TAFE SA higher education courses.
