Tuesday 26 November 2013

The equal consideration closing date for most undergraduate courses starting in semester 1 is Monday 2 December 2013. You can still lodge an application after this date, but you should be aware that you will no longer be guaranteed equal consideration for selection.

If you lodge an application after 2 December there are a number of consequences:

  • You must pay a late fee (applies to all applications submitted after 27 September).
  • If offers are made to late applicants they will most likely be made in February, not in the January rounds.
  • You may not be given equal consideration in the selection process.

Equal consideration is a central principle of the SATAC admission system. It means that all applicants who have the same selection rank for a course will be treated equally, i.e. either all or none will be entitled to an offer.

If you lodge your application by the closing date, and comply with all other application requirements, you will be guaranteed equal consideration in the selection process.

For advice on submitting a late application contact SATAC or the relevant university admissions office.
