Thursday 10 January 2019
The main offer round for undergraduate courses is Tuesday 15 January, and if you’re waiting for an offer these 5 handy hints will help you prepare for the day.
1. Make sure your email address is current and accessible
SATAC sends offers by email, so it’s important that you have access to your inbox. If you submitted your SATAC application using a school email address, or an address you don’t have regular access to, now would be a good time to change it.
2. Find your SATAC reference number
Your SATAC reference number is nine digits and is a unique identifier for your application. If you need to talk to SATAC about your application you will need this number, so it’s a good idea to have it handy before offer round day.
3. Check your emails for important offer information
SATAC will send offers by email throughout the day on 15 January and we expect all offers will be emailed by 5pm.
If you have applied for an undergraduate course and you won’t be receiving an offer in the main round (for example if you owe SATAC fees or if you submitted your application after 3 December 2018) we will send you an email to let you know.
4. Read your offer letter carefully for instructions on what to do next
Attached to your offer email you will find a PDF that contains important information about your offer.
If your offer is to your first preference, you will not need to take any further action with SATAC. If you want to defer or make changes to your preferences, the offer letter will explain what you need to do.
If your offer is to your second or a lower preference, you will need to log in to your online application and respond to your offer. You will have until Monday 21 January to respond.
5. No offer? No worries, there’s still time
Many courses continue to make offers after the main offer round. There are further offer rounds scheduled on 24 and 31 January, and courses can also make offers throughout February and even March. Check our key dates for more information about offer round days.
There are a few reasons why you may not have received an offer in the main offer round, and if you are unsure or need further advice about your application you can contact us to discuss your options.
