If you decide to apply for university, you need to
understand how university selection works so that:

you can ensure that you are applying for courses for
which you can be considered; and
- you can get an idea of your
chances of being selected into your chosen courses.
You will also need to know about:

the factors affecting
your chances of selection;

the quotas and subquotas
the universities use to ensure that the right
number of people are selected to their courses; and
-
the set of rules governing
how applicants are selected
for each course (selection methodology) which determine who is eligible for the
course and how applicants are ranked against each other in competition for
places.
